Vermont is blessed with numerous rivers, ponds and lakes that offer great boating, fishing and swimming. The Northeast Kingdom alone has 49 ponds and 14 lakes. Notable among these are Crystal Lake and Lake Willoughby.

In southern Vermont, Lake Shaftsbury State Park, Woodford State Park, and Battenkill River offer fishing and paddle sports while Harriman Reservoir allows power boating and offers a paddleboat tour.
